It was Cute, Then I Cried

The big giant tap performance opening was last night, and Raegan could NOT have been any cuter! That's me nervous/crying/giggling in the background. I can't even begin to describe how proud I am of her for going on that big stage in front of all of those people and doing her dance so well, not to mention behaving herself for the complete stranger in charge of her back stage for nearly 5 hours. We do it again this afternoon, and I just can't wait to see her in action again!

I call this one "Close, but no Cigar"

 

 

The conversation went like this:

Me: Gotta warn you honey, I've got a hankering to re-arrange the living room. Again.

Matt: QUICK!!! GO SHOPPING!!



and then I laughed. A lot. Actually, I'm still laughing. I suppose you had to be here but dang. Funny.

Float

Rae and Kael last Sunday at the Balloon Festival... they had such a great time!! We didn't get to see any hot air balloons but it was a blast for the kiddos to get to play with their cousins and spend the day being active.

There was a boy who had a birthday, KAEL was his name-o!

Kael had a great time yesterday celebrating his big 3rd birthday at Davinies house. It was small and casual, and that was perfect. Presents, cake, icecream, pinata, sprinklers, chickens, kittens, friends and family... What more could a little three year old man ask for??

What Works

 

Lunch time is oft fight time around my home. Raegan can be incredibly picky about her meals, and Kael seems to copy what she does when it comes time to react to the food in front of her. I've gotten around this unfortunate mimickry by being super silly myself. Face lunch. Weather it's edemame hair or rasin nostrils, if her lunch is in the shape of a face Raegan will eat just about anything!

Scene: Musicle Chairs. Three chairs, two children.

singing, singing singing, abruptly stops singing

"No Kael! No! You didn't win. This is my (imaginary) friend Gongalinda. She's sitting here.
NO!! Don't step on my friend! How would you like it if I stepped on your friend?! That's not nice!!!"


" No!!!!" profuse crying. Kael weeps because Rae threatens to step on his friend. To teach him a lesson. He is distraught.

"Well MY friend EATS your friend so you can't step on him".

and that settles the argument
