Little Man Big Man

The look on this girls face is priceless. That is how Kael was recieved by the other,

smaller children in general the whole time.

Little man all grown up, today was Kael's first day of pre-preschool! Just as I'd expected, he's the giant of the class so far ( we meet the other half of the class tomorrow) and just as I'd expected, he's still Kael and not the social butterfly that is Raegan. He flitted from activity to activity, kind of avoided the other children and personal interaction in general, but was the same super happy excited little boy I know and love. His teachers handled him very nicely, working with his extra energy and short attention span very easily. Tomorrow is his first full day without me, and I'm eager to see how he does! I worry about this kid. He is just SO big, I've seen others and I've been guilty myself of expecting him to act the age he looks. He's a tiny little man in a giant body, and some times that doesn't serve him well. He made a wee little friendship overature at the train table with this itty bitty little princess of a girl, and I was spending the whole interaction worried about how he might accidently hurt her.. something as simple as stumbling could knock that tiny little pea flying, and Kael would feel SO badly about that. Time will tell, I just have to trust in his teachers and trust in him and trust in myself that he will be absolutely fine.
** ha ha, Hey! Guess what? Just realized that Kael's pants have been on backwards all day. What a fantastic first impression to make, lol!!Posted by Picasa

Ha ha! Let the other moms think he is dressing himself, and you totally knew about it all day and thought he was so cute....

I *LOVE* the look on that girl's face!!

Everyone's size evens out in the next couple of years. He will soon have buddies his size and probably bigger. Or he can make friends with the kindergarteners....

Okay, that little girl's expression was truly priceless! I know how you feel about the little boy in the big kid's body. Except Seb's almost 6 and I still worry about his little feelings and being such a sensitive guy or whether he's big enough for his class yet.

Somebody has to be the biggest. You don't have to worry he will be "picked on" He will do well. I'm proud of him.Love Gramie

Yay Kael and yay mama!!

He looked like he is really enjoying himself. Nothing teaches social skills like a school environment.

I'm looking forward to sending my own moose-kid off in a couple of years too, so it's good to know the size anxiety is normal!!
