Despite my complete and total inability to make things grow, my garden is FLOURISHING! I attribute it to expensive soil and automatic sprinklers. Nonetheless, things that I can eat are actually coming to life outside my home, and I am CRAZY thrilled about it! Doubling the garden size for next year, there is so much more I could grow watch thrive in spite of me!!

Had a good hike to the "quiet" side, stayed well upstream of the AMAZING waterfalls at the dam's

 

Had a pile of fun, went home filthy dirty.. as it should be!

 

Fourthity Fourth

We saw the parade..

Made a lot of "Stand and Wave, Boys" Madigascar jokes..

Ate a LOT of candy...

And got some sun for the first half of the day, then in the evening it was OFF to the "House of Payne" for some evening fun, grownup conversation, and WAY TOO MUCH food.

Where the men were very manly in their standing around and blowing things up. 

( Oh... I'm building a deck. We topped half of it off in between the morning candy fest and the evening stuffing. Also? I am totally awesome sauce and *really* want a nice compound miter saw of my very own some day.  )

So while it's actually a dobok and not a gi that he's wearing..

Kael was TOTALLY BLISSED out to finally be able to go to "Ninja School".
