As Promised

It was only appropriate that the toes go blue. There is also some fun blue nail art there, but you cna't see it in this light, and this as close as I'm willing to let you get to my feet. Notice the grass camoflage.

As a side note, My toes are quite long and finger like, aren't they? I find them rather odd looking.

Some People.......

OK, so you know how many mamas get to the end of this long haul and they nest? Clean the house from top to bottom, steralize all flat surfaces.. that kind of thing?

Aparently I don't nest.

I scrap.

Yes, yet ANOTHER page in the works... this is big news folks. I've messed more with that junk in the last 2 weeks then I have in the last 6 months. I even went to a SACRAPBOOK store yestrday and BOUGHT stuff!! Matt kindly stayed in the car with the sleeping wee one and I got to spend as much time as I wanted in there. Was much fun had. I managed to buy a bunch of junk for Raegans birthday pages, and you could barely stop me from digging in when we got home. I had to wait till Raegan went to sleep before opening any of my goodies, but I DID get a bunch done on it! Won't be finished for a few more nights yet... well, we'll see. May finish it tonight.

Oh come on, at least PRETEND this drivel is interesting...............

I know.. I have nothing to say, really. Things are quiet around here. Raegan is herself.. talking up a storm, will copy just about ANY word you say... which is both funny and unfortunate.

She says "sweet" all the time now. Sweet like as said in Dude, where's my car.

Bad daddy.

Little Man is..... doing what he does. Wiggling a lot, stretching a lot, working on getting his body faced the right direction... that kind of thing. I'm up most nights for a few hours with contractions, but they peter off nicely around 1 or so lately, so I do get some sleep. Nothing else really happening there with the bod.

In other news...... you can soon look forward to a picture of my FEET!! Yes, lucky you, I am getting a PEDICURE today thanks Davinie, and I will be SURE to post THOSE much requested photos just as SOON as I get back!

What, people don't request pictures of YOUR feet?

How sad.

Sometimes I Heart Spam

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?" The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca- age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." Chrissy -age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss" Emily - age 8

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate," Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6

"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore." Cindy - age 8

"My mommy loves me more than anybody .. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." Clare - age 6

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine - age 5

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." Chris - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an imagination) Karen - age 7

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross." Mark - age 6

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

Ahem...

My Dearest Kael,

Young man, you stop that RIGHT NOW.

Love, Mom

Ooh, Look How Productive I Am!

Look at me being all on top of things.... Only a MONTH after the event, and I have managed to scrap Raegans 2006 Easter fun! I'd scan this in, but my scanner sucks and I only have like 5 minutes before the monsters...uh... children wake up.. so a picture will have to be fine. I used up SO much of my fun foofie stuff! Brads, flowers, photo turns, Basic Grey paper and letters, Bazzil cardstock, a neato hinge thingie... Yeah, needless to say the picture does NOT do it justice! Tips for next page would be welcome... ideas... I keep saving my neat stuff, and I got to thinking, exactly WHAT am I saving it FOR??
SO.. what would you add/change to this layout?

Can you tell that is a huge "egg" in the background, or does it just look like a color circle? It's supposed to look like an egg sitting in the grass...

The Latest

OK, so my scanner sucks. This is the latest layout I've done. What you can't see is the bottom of this layout, under the picture and below the black stripes, is the same cream vellum that was used for the Mama text. The Mama vellum has silver brads and that melted silver powder on the edges. I may or may not add a silver fleur thingie to the top, above the picture. Anyway, one more for the book!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Raegan is aware of her bodily functions. Frequently, she tells me "poo" when she feels the need to poo, has just done so, or has tooted so it smells like poo.
For the last three days, when I pick her up in the mornings, she has lookd at me rather seriously and said her darling little

"POO?"

yet her diaper is empty, remains so, and no one has tooted.

SO...............

Either she is reminding me that at some point in the day she will poo.............

Or she doesn't like my coffee morning breath.

You guess which.

The 36 Week Monstrosity

Yep, there it is. Posted by Picasa

Lazy Daze

I left to do some errands and when I came home this is what I found. Those of you who know Raegan first hand know she doesn't share her Boo-ie's with ANYONE... so it was doubly sweet to see that not only was she sharing it with her Daddy, she was cuddling with him while he napped.

Awwwwwwwww.

37 Weeks

Ugh.

Grumpy detailed complaining below. Be warned.

No sleep last night. Literally. Back ache, random contractions, headache, nausea, heartburn, and the lovely sensation that someone with a huge foot has kicked me in the lady parts. Nice.

Off to the doc today. Only 1cm dilated, soft, high. Ugh again, although that is how far I'd progressed after 2 days on pitocin with Rae, so it is something, at least. Cervix high, head low... how that's possible I'm not sure. Maybe the tipped uterus plays a part in this? His head is firmly butted against my pubic bone now.. Hence the kicked/bruised feeling.
Really, done now.
He prescribed some sleeping pills.. and that's it. I waited in that little room with the ridiculous paper dress on for 52 minutes. Yes, I kept track. He was in the room for 9 minutes and obviously in a hurry. See, usually I really like this doc, but today it kind of seemed like he was annoyed that I was even in there. It felt like he blew me and my concerns off completely. This is weird. Being pregnant with Raegan was so EASY! Being pregnant with Kael.... Honestly, I didn't know it could be this hard. But please, medical professional, don't make me feel like a whiny failure because I'm having a hard time dealing with this. Listen to me. Help me.
I'm not making up all of this stuff. I'm tired, just can't sleep. I feel weak. My headache actually makes the back of my head numb. I can't catch my breath. I'm light headed. I'm stressed.
My naughty bits HURT.
I am a piss poor parent to my daughter. I just can't deal with this body and it's complaints and her at the same time. I lose all patience and end up snapping at her for the littlest things. Then I hate my self for taking it out on her. I really think I would be a better mother to both of my children if I had my body back. My strength back. My energy back. My patience back. My sanity back. I think the hardest part is, it really could be 3 ( or more) weeks till this is over.
Three. More. Weeks.
He confirmed that I am in early labor.. but that could last weeks.. or hours. You never know.
He prescribes me sleeping pills. Says cheerfully "Only 3 weeks left!" as he saunters out the door.
I'm left sitting on that table, stupid paper dress wadded up around the giant butt-thigh, seeing spots, clutching a prescription for sleeping pills, crying.

3 weeks till due.

Ugh.

Birds live in nests, not People.

I woke this morning with a feeling of accomplishment.. yesterday I managed to not only mow the lawn and pull a weed or two, but I also shampood my carpets... a chore long overdue.

I was mulling over what a wasted day today would be in comparison when I realized that not only had I already washed, dryed and put away all of the laundry, I had also cleaned and organized the laundry room AND my bathroom linen closet.

Huh...........

Just a Quickie

Latest Layout, for a local contest. Don't LOVE it, but do like it!
Once again, crappy scan/merge job. Bear with me!

Sippin' the Sweet Stuff

Raegan discovered today that the stuff coming out of the hose was WATER! and therfore drinkable. Once this discovery was made, the rest of the play outside had to do with different ways of drinking it.

Yes, her very first 2 piece swimsuit. I wanted keep her in modest one piece suits till she was.... oh, I don't know...... 18 or so. Little girls should dress like little girls. However, with her fast growing little body we thought this might be the better investment. It's as modest a 2 piece as I could find.

Plus, her belly is MIGHTY cute!

But only friends and family are allowed to notice, OK?

It's Gonna be a Scorcher!

It was HOT today. HOT. Luckily this afternoon it got a bit overcast so it was fun to play outside. I broke out the Noodlehead and Raegans swimsuit and let her go... it is SUCH fun to see her playing outside! I could spend the rest of my life listening to that little girl laugh. Posted by Picasa

How....... Helpful?

"WOW, his head is REALLY low! I just can't believe you AREN'T DIALATED AT ALL!!!"

Um... Thanks?

36 weeks.

A Mothers Day Spent Being Moms

Raegan and I spent the morning & afternoon playing over at Aunt Davinies house today. It was such fun! We played on the swing, in the mud, and in the sprinkler.. overall a FUN day!
I only got a couple of photos, so check out her Blog for the rest!

Raegan and Morgan enjoying a couple of popsicles.

Ridin' the Pony

This is what she does when I tell her to say "CHEESE!" Yep, that's cheezy alright.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! Hint-Hint?

Happy wishes to all the Mothers out there, both past, present, and future, ( That means YOU)!

This is YOUR day so please.... don't clean the toilet.

He sure outdid himself this year! Last year, Matt kind of forgot Mothers Day.. He's made up for it! Magic Bullet, new cutlery, and some of those neat rubber baking dishes. I don't need or expect him to buy me ANYTHING, so it sure was shocking to wake up and find all this waiting for me on the counter! I will be chipping and blending quite a bit of things in the days to come.. Thank you Matt, I love you! Posted by Picasa

Pre-Yardsale Fun

Raegan and Adam play outside ( Adam is the new little boy I watch while Matt's at work). It is finally getting really nice out here, and BOY are the kiddos loving it! But, it is kind of bare out there.. not a lot to play with....... Posted by Picasa

Yardsale EXTRAVAGANZA!!!

So the neighborhood was having a Yard Sale. Ad put in the paper, the whole nine yards. I had a birthday party to go to accross the street at 10:30 and Adam was coming over at 10, so that only left me from 8 to 10 to check out everyone elses garbage. BOY am I glad I did! Not only did I get a few antique tea pots for my budding collection, I got some great glass canisters for decor, a bunch of beanie-babies for Raegan along with a new movie ( Toy Story), and some neat paintings by a little old lady down the street.

And then I saw THEM.

I'm just turning the corner on the block and there I see, all the way over on the opposite end of the street.. the corner of a Little Tykes play structure.

I Ran.

You should have seen this fat boddy waddling faster then the speed of light, pushing my wee child in our stroller ( yes, she did yell WEEEEEEE! and put her hands in the air ), knocking pedestrians out of the way... .OK, well that last part may be a bit of an exageration, but you get the point. Much fast movement happening, much gawking from the neighbors ( what is she DOING??)

I get there and what do I find? Not one, but TWO Little Tykes play structures for sale, still available, and with the STEAL OF THE CENTURY price of only $20 and $15 ( I ended up paying $10) taped boldly on them.

I stood there, mouth agape, and finally managed to pull myself together enough to announce loudly to the crowd of housewives and children climbing out of their vans, "MINE".
Now that part is true.

A quick phone call to Steve and his mighty Diesel has me the proud owner of some of the coolest outside play toys EVER. I cleaned that man out.

Oh Yeah, Look at that LOOT! Raegan is in HEAVEN! Posted by Picasa

Interesting Fact

Aparently "Share" actually means "He should be giving me whatever it is he is holding regardless of what I am holding because I asked him to SHARE and if he doesn't then I'm going to SCREAM because HE refuses to SHARE!!"

You learn something new every day!

Treinta-y-Quatro ( last week)

The Belly at 34 weeks. Note the new stretch marks on my side. Nice. Posted by Picasa

35 Weeks Down, 35 ( or less) Days to Go

A Ho-Hum kind of checkup... if you ignore the huge Q-Tip that made a visit to the hoo-haw this morning. Fun Fun. Gotta love those Group B Strep tests.

Kael is still measuring 1.5 weeks or so ahead, but heartrate is normal (172), my weight gain is fine ( plus 3 pounds) although my bloodpressure was really low ( "Just slow down!" SURE, tell that to my 19 month old) , he is head down ( um yeah, I knew that, thanks).. and Dr. D thinks he'll be just under 9 pounds if he makes it to term... which we don't think he will.

Active little booger.

We have hit that every-week-visit stage, which is kind of exciting.. it means we'll have a Little Man here soon! Yay!

As a side note, I find it totally weird to think that if I were Davinie, I'd be holding a baby by this time next week.

AAHHHH!!!

I'll settle for 4 weeks or so from now, thankyouverymuch.

May 08, 2006

Still figuring out this whole scanner/adobe nonsense.... Here's the latest layout, finally got brave enough to dip into that stash of Basic Grey i've been given... I've been too hesitant to use it as I don't want to waste it on a bad layout! This one turned out well, I think. Simple, yet busy at the same time. Just squares, inking, fibers, and the sewing machine. The neat thing is, those squares are cut out of that example page they stick in the front of the package so you can see what the papers look like, so I only used ONE actual paper, plus part of 2 Bazzil cardstock colors.  Posted by Picasa
