Toot Sweet

Growing up, we were never the family that gifted the giant plate of cookies and sweets come Holiday time. It just wasn't our thing. I'm constantly surprised by how many of the little "normal's" in other peoples lives just weren't *our* thing. Baking? That was one of them. But in Matts family the big holiday bake-off was a matter of routine. So it came as no surprise this year when he tracked down all of his mothers holiday recipes and promptly ran down to the nearest grocery store, braving the holiday crowds for a few pounds of powdered sugar. He has been baking up a storm all week, and the kids LOVE it.
~sigh~
It seems that perhaps next year I will become one of those people. Those holiday, giant plate of goodies people. After all, I can't let the kids have all the fun!
